I’ve been enjoying the warm, summer nights here in Australia. Our family flew down for Christmas to visit my wife’s family.
A few nights ago after dinner, my father-in-law and I began talking about 2022 and preparing for 2023. The first thing we agreed upon was the idea that what worked in 2022 will not work in 2023.
Interest rates continue to rise. Real estate is all over the place. Businesses are cutting jobs. Change is coming whether you like it or not.

When I was 17 I received a college football scholarship. I was pretty proud of myself. I remember showing up to football camp and feeling like the man.
That feeling lasted about 30 seconds as I realized I was not the best on the team, and I may not make the team the way I was playing.
I quickly understood that my level of play would need to improve big time if I was to have a shot at making the team or getting any playing time.
So, I did what any high-performing, powerful leader would do. I improved every area of my game.
I ran harder than anyone else.
I competed against the toughest guys.
I made sure I never walked off the field.
I encouraged my teammates.
I respected the coaches.
I arrived early and stayed late.
And you know what happened?
I made the team, started on the team, and played in the national championship.
