Day 2: The Power of a God-Given Idea
Scripture: Proverbs 8:12 (NIV) - "I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion."
Devotional:
God’s ideas are transformative and carry the power to create change. When He gives an idea, it is accompanied by the wisdom and prudence needed to execute it.
Wealthy people focus on ideas, as seen in the life of Joseph in Egypt. His God-given insight to store grain during years of plenty saved nations during the famine (Genesis 41:39-40).
All wealth begins with an idea. You must awaken this idea in your spirit, soul, and body.
Let me share a story about a woman who was in bad shape. This woman worked at a hotel and was very poor. One day, the hotel had to let her go and she was without a job.
She was the only person in the family providing income. She was fearful. She was full of anxiety. She was terrified.
She requested a meeting with a wealthy businessman she knew. She told him it was a matter of life and death. The businessman went to see her and she explained her dire situation.
The businessman listened and when she was finished he began to laugh. The woman was very confused as she was nearly crying. She said, “Why are you laughing about this?”
The businessman said, “You do not lack resources. You lack resourcefulness.” He then asked her if she had an oven in her home. The woman replied, “Yes, I have an oven.”
The businessman asked, “How often do you use that oven?” The woman replied, “I use it 1-2x per week.”
The businessman said, “I remember when you made me cookies a long time ago. Those were some great cookies. I have an idea for you.”
The businessman shared, “Why don’t you go and buy all the ingredients you need for cookies, make some cookies, and give them away to the staff at the hotel that laid you off.”
The woman was shocked and terrified. She replied, “I don’t know if I have enough money to do that.” The businessman replied, “What else are you going to do?”
The woman agreed and began baking cookies and giving them away. A few days later, the woman received more than 15 orders for her cookies from staff members at the hotel.
The woman continued to work this way and created a business.
Her business created hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars of profit. Her cookies can be found in all the major stores in her country.
Everything about wealth originates from an idea.
Joseph interpreted a dream and then gave the IDEA to create wealth in Egypt. Similarly, it was an idea that rescued this woman out of poverty and into wealth.

Prayer: "Father, help me to see the value in the ideas You give me. Give me the wisdom to develop and implement these ideas, and let them be a blessing to many. Amen."
Action Step: Review the ideas you wrote down yesterday. Choose one and brainstorm at least three ways you can start bringing it to life. Share this idea with a trusted friend or mentor for feedback and encouragement.
