Introduction to "Wealth from God’s Ideas"
When we talk about wealth, many people immediately think of money.
However, true wealth encompasses much more than just financial riches.
Through my research of the scriptures, I’ve discovered seven pillars of wealth that we must focus on to live a truly prosperous and balanced life. These pillars include:
Spiritual Wealth: Being rich toward God. Without a strong spiritual foundation, no amount of money can truly satisfy. Jesus asked, "What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?" (Mark 8:36). Spiritual wealth is about nurturing your relationship with God and aligning your life with His purpose.
Intellectual Wealth: Developing your mind and emotions. God has given us brains to use and develop. Intellectual wealth involves continuous learning and emotional maturity. Solomon prayed for wisdom, and God granted him not only wisdom but also great wealth (1 Kings 3:10-13).
Physical Wealth: Maintaining a healthy body. No matter how much money you have, without good health, you cannot enjoy it. God cares about our physical well-being, as evidenced by the health laws given to the Israelites (Exodus 15:26).
Social Wealth: Building strong relationships. Wealth is also found in the quality of our relationships with family, friends, and our community. Jesus emphasized the importance of forgiveness and loving others to maintain healthy relationships (Matthew 5:23-24).
Influential Wealth: Impacting others positively. True wealth includes the ability to influence and bring about positive change. Jesus said, "You are the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). Our influence should reflect God's love and wisdom.
Community Wealth: Contributing to the betterment of society. We are called to serve and uplift those around us. Our legacy is built on how we improve the lives of others. Proverbs 11:25 says, "A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."
Generational Wealth: Leaving a lasting legacy. True wealth is measured by what we leave for future generations. A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children (Proverbs 13:22). This includes not just financial inheritance but also values, wisdom, and faith.
Let’s explore how God gives us the ability to produce wealth in all these areas through divine ideas.
Day 1: The Source of Wealth - Ideas from God
Scripture: Deuteronomy 8:18 (NIV) - "But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today."
Devotional:
When I began to understand God’s idea of wealth - everything changed. My prayer is for the Lord to reveal and awaken these ideas of wealth for you, your business, and your family.
God’s blueprint for wealth is not merely about material riches but about the divine ideas He plants within us. The true essence of wealth is embedded in the ability to generate and execute ideas that transform lives and communities.
When Solomon prayed for wisdom instead of wealth, God granted him both (1 Kings 3:10-13).
The more I studied Solomon’s prayer, the more I began to see the link between ideas and wealth.
The key word in Deuteronomy 8:18 is "ability."
In the original Hebrew, the word is "כֹּחַ" (koach), which translates to strength, power, or ability. This basically means that God grants us the strength, capacity, and capability to produce wealth.
He doesn't simply provide money; He equips you and me with the necessary skills, ideas, and energy to create wealth ourselves.
This idea not only shook me but reminded me of a powerful parable of the talents in Matthew 25.
The parable of the talents can be summed up like this. The owner entrusted money to three of his servants. Two of his servants doubled the money given to them. The third servant buried his in the ground and produced nothing.
When the owner returned, he was angry with the servant who buried his money, took it, and gave it to the servant who had doubled it.
All three of these servants had the ABILITY to create wealth. However, only two of them actually used their ability to do so.
For so many years, I buried and avoided my abilities and it cost me my peace, purpose, and profitability.
It wasn’t until I had an IDEA and faced my fears that got me realigned with wealth in my life.
My challenge to you is this, stop waiting and start creating ideas. Begin to match your skills with ideas. If you lack skills, then invest in skills to produce the ideas.
What you cannot do is WAIT. God has given us all ABILITY. It is our job to steward and grow our abilities to create wealth.
Prayer: "Lord, grant me wisdom and understanding. Help me recognize the ideas You are giving me and the courage to act upon them. Let these ideas not only benefit me but also those around me, for Your glory. Amen."
Action Step: Spend 10 minutes in quiet meditation, asking God to reveal new ideas to you. Write down any thoughts or inspirations that come to mind, no matter how small they seem.
