I was re-reading an old classic coaching book the other day when I was hit with a backhand reminder. The book was The Inner Game of Tennis.
The reminder was a classic statement.
It’s one of those statements when you aren’t feeling great you hate to hear.
The statement was, “you have everything you need for the journey.”
When I hear it, it used to make me feel inadequate.
It used to make me feel like everything I was doing was wrong.
I’ve gained much more awareness and it’s now a gentle reminder.
If you are feeling stuck, frustrated with where you are at in your life, or wishing you were making more money in your life, then this email is for you.
My hand is raised as I was feeling all of these feelings above not too long ago.
I want to bring some hope to you today.
You are on the right track.
Just the fact you are reading this is a sign you desire something more for your life.
Let me share with you a couple of things you can do right now to help transform your life.
Being stuck sucks, what’s even worse is not knowing what to do next.
Being broke sucks, but not knowing what to do next is even worse.
Being frustrated with your life sucks, but not having a game plan is even worse.
What do you actually want for your life?
Back when I was playing sports it was easy to figure out what I wanted.
I wanted to win championships.
I wanted to be the best defensive back in the area I lived.
I wanted to start as a freshman in college.
I knew exactly what I wanted, and did everything possible to achieve it.
I woke up early and ran.
I went to the gym twice a day, sometimes at midnight.
I watched everything I ate.
And, it worked. I achieved everything I was going for.
Then life happened.
I got married.
I had some kids.
My goals became wishes.
I forgot about what they were.
They were never achieved.
I became frustrated.
Which brought me to a transitional point in my life.
When you know where you are and where you want to go, you can draw a game plan to get there.
The problem for me was I didn’t know where I was, and I didn’t know where I wanted to go.
I never took the time to investigate what was in my heart.
Life became so busy I forgot what my gifts were.
Work became a paycheck to take care of my family.
I was comfortably miserable.
I had to make a change.
I had to transition into who I knew I was created to be.
Let me ask you again, what do you want for your life?
When you begin to answer that question, you will begin to gain awareness of who you were created to be.
You will see where you are.
You will see where you want to go.
You will see the space between and how to get there.
It all starts with what you want to become.
Start there, and everything will flow.
God bless.
