When I was in high school, my friends would come over on Monday nights and watch WWF, also known as the World Wrestling Federation. We didn’t just watch WWF, we would beat the heck out of each other.
(I loved watching all of his wrestling matches, and even now most of his movies. He is a visionary with an incredible work ethic. He inspires me.)
It was awesome. It was ridiculous. We loved it.
One of the things I remembered most was watching The Rock and hearing him yell, “can you smell what The Rock was cooking?”
The arena would go nuts.
My friends and I would go nuts.
We would then go after each other in attempts to pin each other.
What I loved about the Rock then and still do now is how hard he worked and how RIPPED he is. He is crazy fit, and if you follow him on social media you know he works out at the craziest hours.
It’s his job. It’s his life. It’s who he is.
This week I was with a client and one of the big areas of focus was spirituality. This client of mine had multiple thriving businesses but felt disorganized in his personal and family life.
I asked him how his spiritual life was going and he responded, “not so good.”
I asked more questions as to what that meant, and he shared some of his spiritual rhythms with me.
This led me to talk to him about The Rock.
(I bet you were wondering if I forgot about that part, I didn’t.)
My client knew who The Rock was and immediately said, “that guy is a beast.”
So, I asked him, “if we are talking about spiritual growth, what would it look like for you to become The Rock spiritually?”
I want to ask you that question today.
I ask myself this question almost every month.
Let me ask you again, what do you need to do to get spiritually fit?
I’m certain the battles you are facing are spiritual.
We know that, and the Bible confirms this in Ephesians 6:12, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces.”
If you were to go into a fight, wouldn’t you want to be trained and ready like The Rock?
I know you want to grow. I know you want someone to give you an answer.
However, on this one, I want you to take some time and reflect.
Ask yourself, what does a spiritual ROCK look like?
What thoughts do you need to feed?
What habits need to begin?
When will you begin?
How much is it costing you NOT to develop this area?
What are you missing because you are NOT spiritually as fit as you would like?
I’m here to challenge you.
I’m here to bring you the real.
I’m here to bring you closer to the King of Kings.
I’m rooting for you. I’m praying with you.
Let me know how this resonates with you.
